For few hours, the Phoenix spacecraft landed on Mars. First, exciting pictures are available on mission’s website and on Astronomy Picture of the Day page.

Following a link on Snopes page devoted to a fake image, I found the website of Patricia Piccinini. Her works are really impressive: check out the whole We are family serie and Nature’s little helpers.Â
Eros in modern art, Beyeler foundation
I saw in Basel the exposition Eros in modern art, at the Beyeler foundation. I’m not an art expert, so I can’t only say that I appreciated the idea for a topical exposition. Usually, expositions have as main subject an artist or a period in time.
The exposition is in the Beyeler foundation, a beautiful building designed by Renzo Piano.

Visual art pdf magazines
Surfing from Permalink (in number 3 an interesting article on Winnie the Pooh) I found a lot of interesting website, blog or pdf magazines dedicated to visual art: the first one is Brainzone, the second is Freshcut. From the latter, you may surf to a huge amount of art stuff, mostly done by young artists. I liked PoorDesigners, Shiningmagazine, Robot magazine, swissmiss. No idea if these are famous or not, I just like the pics.

Lodrino Airshow
On Sunday, September 3., I was in Lodrino, a small village some kilometers before the Gotthard. The Lodrino Airshow 2006 was really wonderful, but in my opinion the best airshow in this area is the Ambri Airshow. Well, was. The Lugano Airshow is good, but an airshow in the mountains is really different.
In Lodrino you had the sun in your eyes for the whole afternoon. Very bad. Ambri is a better place for an airshow.

Google Image Labeler game
Google Image Labeler is a great idea. It’s a game and Google will use results to improve Image Search. You play with someone that the system will find on the net. When both of you label an image with the same word, you get points and go to another image.

A day in Sonogno
Sonogno is a beautiful village in Valle Verzasca. I spent an afternoon there, walking to the falls. Very relaxing and nice day. You’ll find some more photos on my flickr page.
Snagu: reverse flickring
Snagu is a game created by NY students. You play as a reverse Flickr: first you get the tag, then you shot and send the photo. Everything will start in September, but you may join for playtesting.
